Chris
Director, Information Management

What is your role at Collaborative and what do you enjoy most about it?
I am a Director in our Information Management group focusing on data warehouse, data integration and master data management services. In that role I define the services we offer the market, participate in the sales process and contribute to thought leadership on various Information Management topics. In addition to my services leadership role, I deliver on data centric projects as a data architect. I enjoy balancing the project and non-project aspects of my role.
What makes you stay with the Collaborative team?
The Information Management team has the strongest concentration of talent of any company I have worked for. There is something to learn from every person. In addition, I have a long working and personal relationships with many people in the company making work both more productive and enjoyable. Some of the strongest friendships I have made in my professional career are with members of the Collaborative team.
What knowledge and skills have you gained at Collaborative?
Prior to Collaborative, I primarily delivered on projects and participated in sales pursuits with minimal opportunity to contribute to the operations or thought leadership of the consulting company I worked for. At Collaborative, I have been able to grow my skill-set in managing an internal team and contribute to thought leadership in Information Management.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing and gardening.
What advice would you give to potential new recruits? Or what is the Collaborative Career Advantage?
Collaborative will not constrain your career growth but you need to be a self-starter to take advantage of the many opportunities available in training, internal projects, service definition and internal team building.
What has been your most memorable experience at Collaborative.
Creating the Master’s mini golf course in our Burlington Office.

Lead Consultant

What is your role at Collaborative and what do you enjoy most about it?
In my role as a Principal Consultant, I contribute significantly to both the design and implementation of the projects to which I am assigned. What I have enjoyed most about this role is the variety of problems that I am asked to solve. I especially enjoy that each client engagement is a unique experience through which I am able to see how the choices I make impact and/or evolve based on new and challenging constraints and information.
What makes you stay with the Collaborative team?
My commitment to Collaborative begins with my co-workers. I am continually impressed with the caliber of people that I get to work with at Collaborative and find that I am always learning new ways to approach and solve problems.
What knowledge and skills have you gained at Collaborative?
Apart from exposure to new technology, the skills that I am really developing are around analysis of a problem and developing an understanding around how I can solve a problem and the trade-offs I must accept as a part of my decisions.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of family, I enjoy running and cycling which culminated in the completion of Ironman Wisconsin a few years back. I love football in the Fall and the best month of the year is July when I can get a daily dose of the greatest sporting event ever. The Tour de France.
What advice would you give to potential new recruits? Or what is the Collaborative Career Advantage?
I think the biggest thing is to keep an open mind and understand that with technology there are multiple ways to solve a problem, and our responsibility as consultants is to guide our clients through these choices in order to help them make the best decision possible within their constraints.
What has been your most memorable experience at Collaborative?
While projects and people are always great, one event that has stood out for me at Collaborative is the annual children’s holiday party. Collaborative goes out of its way to create an exciting and fun filled morning for all the kids. My children look forward to it every year. From Pancakes to Santa to presents, what’s not to love!
